Description

Crabapples are among the most popular spring flowering trees. They’re adaptable to a range of soil types. Buds for the next season will set in mid-summer, so prune in early June if needed. Suckers should be removed and pruning the center of the plant to encourage air movement can help prevent disease problems. Harvest Gold has white flowers that emerge from reddish pink buds a week later than other crabapples, after foliage emerges. 3/5 inch gold fruit remains colorful into winter, persisting until spring. Excellent resistance to disease and Japanese beetles.
