Description

Crabapples are among the most popular spring flowering trees. They’re adaptable to a range of soil types. Buds for the next season will set in mid-summer, so prune in early June if needed. Suckers should be removed and pruning the center of the plant to encourage air movement can help prevent disease problems. Donald Wyman is one of the best crabapples for fruit, flowers, and foliage. Red buds expand to pink and open white, with especially showy display every other year. Glossy bright red, 1/2 inch fruit is abundant and persists into winter. Good disease resistance.
