Description
The Higan species are among the most cold, heat, and stress tolerant of cherries, are fast growing, and are long-lived once established. Ornamental red fruits mature to shiny black. Before leaves grow in the spring, semi-double, light pink flowers emerge from deep pink buds. Flowers mature to white. Some buds will open during fall warm spells, with full floral display the following spring. Forked trunk and slender twigs. Especially cold hardy, even for Higans.For reference only:
