Description
Gray Birches are smaller than other species, leaf out earlier, and are less susceptible to Bronze Birch Borer. Their bark is gray, rather than white, and develops black ridges rather than peeling.Whitespire has white bark that doesn’t exfoliate. It has a good upright form and better resistance to Bronze Birch Borer. It prefers some afternoon shade to protect it from summer heat.Photos courtesy of Bailey.For reference only:
