Description
River Birches have cinnamon– colored, exfoliating bark and yellow fall color. Best on slightly acid sites that are moist to wet, especially going into winter. They’re extremely heat-tolerant, but not drought tolerant, and resistant to Bronze Birch Borer. Moderate to fast growth. Little King (or Fox Valley) has a dense, compact, multi-stemmed form with irregular shape. Its bark exfoliates earlier than the species.For reference only:
