Description
European Beeches are beautiful specimen trees with dense growth creating a formal outline. The stout trunk has smooth gray bark that gives stunning winter interest. Slow growing, preferring fertile, well-drained soils. Site with late afternoon shade to protect the leaves from scorching in extreme afternoon heat. River’s holds its deep purple color better in the heat of the summer than other varieties.For reference only:
