Description

Beauty bushes are known for their brilliant white, fading to pink, flowers in spring. This deciduous shrub grows with arching branches providing a display of the bell shaped flowers followed by persisting fruits. The green leaves fade to yellow in the fall and when they drop they begin to expose the exfoliating bark on matured stems through the winter. This cultivar has copper colored emerging leaves that turn yellow during the bloom time and mature into a chartreuse shade finally transitioning to a deep golden fall color. They prefer average, well-drained soil and thrive in filtered shade situations. This plant blooms on old wood; thus should not be pruned in late winter or the shrub will suffer in loss of bloom.
