Description

Barberries are known for their compact, structured form ranging from bright yellow to deep burgundy foliage colors. They have spines along their reddish stems that allows it to keep a strong, attractive form through all four seasons. This cultivar is an upright, columnar form with dark red-purple leaves with a tight, dense foliage. This selection is a slow grower. Barberries prefer moderately dry, well-drained soil; while they suffer in poorly drained, wet soil. They tolerate heavy heat and drought situations as well as a heavily shaded area. Typically used for border and hedge plantings.
