Description
Crabapples are among the most popular spring flowering trees. They’re adaptable to a range of soil types. Buds for the next season will set in mid-summer, so prune in early June if needed. Suckers should be removed and pruning the center of the plant to encourage air movement, which can help prevent disease problems. Adirondack is one of the best selections for flowers, fruit, and foliage. Red-tinged white flowers emerge from red buds. 1/2 inch, orange-red fruit persists into late fall. Green foliage is highly resistant to scab, fireblight, rust, and mildew.For reference only:
