Catalpas are grow quickly into a large tree with large leaves, showy flowers, and long seed capsules. They are extremely adaptable, tolerant of wet, dry, or alkaline soils, heat, and drought. They have few serious pest problems. Heartland was selected for its narrow form and upright growth habit with uniform branching.
